Early Autumn Nature Table

This is our early autumn nature table.
Autumn traditionally is the time for little gnomes and dwarfs and tomtes to appear in our house and garden. The children are building little gnome homes outside using leaves, moss and bark. The scene on the window papercut is from one of our favorite children´s book "The Tompten and the Fox" by Astrid Lindgren.

A new Year in our Waldorf Kinder Gruppe

Last week we prepared, cleaned, washed, oiled and arranged everything in Rosas Waldorf Kindergarten Classrooms for the start of our new Kindergarden Year after the summer break. What a pleasure to be part of this nice group of like minded people.

Summertime Dolls & Summerbreak Announcement

Knecht Ruprecht will make a short Summer Break starting 1. August - ending 15. August 2016.

I just completed those two Knecht Ruprecht Companion Dolls. They are the last two dolls completed before I will make a short summer break and leave my studio for some intense gardening projects, for long family nature walks and meeting up with family and friends. The 30 cm Knecht Ruprecht Companion Doll will come with a dress made of cotton fabric and one matching bonnet, one hairband with a little flower and one set of shoes made from natural wool felt. The smaller doll comes with a cotton dress and a matching bonnet. Both Knecht Ruprecht Waldorf Dolls are available in my shops at Etsy and DaWanda.

All dolls are individual handmade in Austria with love and great attention to detail. Only the most exquisite materials made from all natural fibers and organic materials where possible are used.
Heads and bodies are sculpted in the traditional Waldorf style and all facial features are hand embroidered. Knecht Ruprecht Companion Dolls have a simple bottom, simple hands and feet. Arms and legs are moderately curved, freely movable, allowing natural postures. All Knecht Ruprecht Companion Dolls are soft to the touch and stuffed firmly with 100% organic washed and carded wool. The hair of this doll is made of 100% extra soft Merino yarn.

The soft 100% cotton doll tricot skin is approved in accordance with the Oeko-Tex Standard 100, Class 1 certification. It is made in Switzerland and it is a very high quality fabric which is used and approved since years for the purpose of Waldorf Doll making. This fabric is very resistant and allows a long lifetime of the dolls I make.

Nearly all wool and felt materials used for my dolls are coming from the local farmers collective Manufaktur Haslach. This Collective supports different rare and endangered species of sheep and organic farming, no pesticides or chemicals are used. The wool is only washed with soda, mild soap and warm water.

Knecht Ruptrecht Dolls are made in a smoke free environment with love and great attention to detail. Each and every doll I make is unique and handmade by myself.

Happy Midsummer Festival & Summer Solstice!

Midsummer, Johanni, St. Johns Day, Summer Solstice is really worth celebrating. What a beautiful time of the year, a turning point - the longest day the shortest night in the northern Hemisphere. Bittersweet - from now on the days will become shorter again until christmas. In Waldorf Education it is said that at Summer Solstice Nature is breathing out to their fullest. We try to spend as much time as possible outside  this time of the year to enjoy and appreciate all the beauty around us.
